We own 40 percent of Fjätervålens mountain facility. The development plan for the destination includes more cottages and apartments, new chairlift, new centre building with hotels, camping, increased focus on alpine and cross-country skiing and all year round activities. A training center for the growing number of employees is also a central part of the investment.
Since January 2018, when we first committed ourselves to Fjätervålen AB, intensive work has been going on to present a plan for a future Fjätervålen. Just barely three months later, concrete proposals were made for an ambitious effort right up to 2028.
"The plan is to preserve and develop what is unique with Fjätervålen but to develop the facility with long-term sustainable solutions in focus. The ambition is to become the Nordic region's most sustainable mountain destination and an innovative test bed for sustainable building and digitisation, says Ola Serneke, chairman of Fjätervålen AB and PRESIDENT and CEO of Serneke Group.
Long-term investment
In the next few years the plan is to develop a new chairlift, top cabin, cross-country trails and new campsites. Also a new centre building with hotels and conference facilities, Skidshop, restaurant and more cottages and apartments is in the next few years planning.
A central part of Sernekes Investment also consists in building a training centre and good recreational opportunities for the group's employees.
"We are a strong growing group and we see in Fjätervålen an opportunity to build something really good for our employees. We will be the market's most attractive employer and this is a way to further strengthen us in that ambition, says Ola Serneke.
Increased attraction and new jobs
The aim is that the entire development and renovation should be completed 2028. If the vision is fulfilled, Fjätervålen will then have 1 000-1 500 new accommodations, new centre point with Bykänsla, several new lifts and pistes and activities and activities all year round.
"Our goal is to create an increased attraction and new job opportunities to the region by developing a long-term ski resort with great conditions. In addition to having started a plan work, we also need to build a new organization and welcome many new, driven employees who want to be on the road, "says Ola Serneke.
Fjätervålen AB and Serneke are now discussing with the municipality of Älvdalen and other authorities such as the County Administrative Board of Dalarna on detailed planning issues and other permits with the ambition to begin the exploitation during 2019.
Stay in the most modern paradise
The new Fjätervålen will be built in different stages over a period of ten years. In each stage, housing is built of various types-both property rights and rental apartments. Is it a cottage that attracts, or maybe an apartment? In the first stage, 150 homes are planned. The sales start is estimated at 2019 and the relocation is planned to 2020.
