Serneke to construct new court building in Vänersborg

Hemsö Fastigheter AB and Serneke will collaborate to construct a new court building in central Vänersborg. The building will house some 130 workplaces, 11 courtrooms (two of which will offer increased security), a security screening area with a connecting reception area, public areas, offices for court personnel, as well as rooms and arrival facilities for detainees.

“We are highly satisfied with the product developed alongside Serneke and Fojab. The District Court building will be functional, durable and solid. I am looking forward very much to the constellation’s continued collaboration,” says Hanna Tengberg, Project Developer at Hemsö.

The roughly 6,850 m² of space will house both the Vänersborg District Court, as well as the Land and Environmental Court. The building is also being prepared for future expansion, with flows and security zones being pre-assured to safeguard the suitability of the premises for many years to come.

The planning of the new court building will begin immediately, with construction scheduled to commence in the autumn of 2023. The building is planned for completion in the summer of 2026. The project is conditional on the approval of the Swedish government, which is awaited during the autumn. The order value of SEK 285 million will be included in the order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2022.
